Great Expectations

Due to popular demand, the production of Great Expectations, on the Arcadia stage of the Arden Theatre, 40 N. 2nd Street, will be extended through December 21.  What a phenomenal production it is!  With Josh Carpenter leading the cast as Pip, 5 other cast members portray 40 characters.  With a quick flick of a hat, a new coat, scarf or jacket, additional characters are born. Dialogue flows at a swift speed between the characters, at times head to head, at times as a Greek chorus. Gale Childs Daly has done an incredible job of adapting the book Great Expectations written by Charles Dickens. This show is quick paced. An extraordinarily long and complex tale is brought to life within the confines of a single set.  The stage is transformed solely by changing props in order to change the scenes to visit 30 locations. Act now to follow Pip and his great expectations from 1812 – 1840.  For more information or tickets, call 215-922-1122 or visit online at www.ardentheatre.org
