On Tuesday, July 21, Victorian dressed carolers will perform
outside the Kimmel Center. At 10 a.m.
guests, including 100 children and their chaperones will enter the Kimmel
Center while the Philly POPS Brass Quartet performs Christmas music. In the
lobby will be three Christmas trees surrounded by 100 bikes and helmets, tagged
for each child. A half hour program will
include short speeches by dignitaries and The Philly POPS Festival chorus singing
Christmas carols. Following the program,
the children, ages 3 to 17 will go to the Christmas trees to find their bikes
provided by The Philly POPS and Friends of the POPS. Santa and Mrs. Claus,
Christmas sugar cookies and candy cane shaped soft pretzels will all help make a
wonderful Christmas celebration, even if it is in July.
